Spring Cleaning Isn't Just for Houses

Spring. What a wonderful time of year. When you think of Spring, you think of flowers, rain, and cool nights. It is also a time for spring cleaning. A time to donate gently used items. A time to re-arrange and a time to de-clutter. It can be a tiring process, but once everything is done it brings about a sense of accomplishment. A breath of fresh air. There is clarity. Clarity encourages creativity. Unbridled creativity promotes productivity.

Yet, houses are not the only area that benefit from spring cleaning. It is an amazing time to de-clutter your life. Whether that is toxic friends, a one-sided relationship, or a dead end job. It is a chance to re-arrange your priorities and set them in the proper place. Spring is a time to create boundaries. Both for others and for ourselves.

Everyone that is with us is not for us. There are certain people that wander through life aimlessly. Although we have no control over their time & space, we do have control over our own time & space. We often associate time wasters as mindlessly scrolling on social media or binging a new season on Netflix. However, I submit to you that there are also people who are skillful at wasting other people's time. Whether on purpose or not. If a person is not aligned with their purpose/core values, chances are they will not recognize the importance that you place on being aligned with yours.

I equate this to how people shop. People that are looking for a specific item go into the store, go directly to the aisle that has the item, and then they go straight to the check out line. On the contrary, people that shop without intention will typically stroll around the store casually, go up and down every aisle, and even stop to strike up conversations with store employees.

Inherently, there is nothing wrong with casually walking around if you do not have an appointment coming up or you are free for the rest of the day. However, if you know that you have a specific goal to attain, or somewhere to be, you must be intentional with your time.

Be intentional with your life. Take Spring as an opportunity to remove anything that no longer serves you. Habits, fears, negativity, toxic people. Only you will know what needs to go.

most important in your life.

Whether it is your home or your life, you deserve a space that is clean, filled with positivity, and filled with love.
